COVID-19 Updates

**Updated August 2020**

In a continued effort to protect the well-being of the community and to prevent the spread the COVID-19 virus, the South Suburban Vineyard will suspend all in-person worship services until further notice.

As we watch the phasing guidelines for the state of Illinois, our Senior Leadership Team and Pastoral Advisory Committee continue to stay in contact about what it will require to reopen our building. While we do not feel it is safe enough for us to meet inside the building for a regular church service, we are guided by the following values:

Safety - including sanitation, procedures, and process

Sunday Morning Worship Service - including making sure we maintain a high quality Sunday morning experience for everyone. While outdoor church services are an option, we have decided to maintain our online services so we can continue to provide a quality church service for everyone. This enables us to provide a Sunday morning service without disruption from inclement weather or lower quality viewing for those who choose to remain at home.

Community - including providing opportunities to gather together to maintain, develop and grow healthy community in a safe way. We intend to foster this sense of community through safe, in-person events as well as through things like Curbside Check-Ins and Zoom Small Groups.

We will be hosting Sunday morning (10:30am) service online at Service will include musical worship and an encouraging message.

We will also host a variety of small groups. Groups will meet virtually via Zoom throughout the week. You can find all of our options, including days, times, and focus, by checking out our Small Groups page.

A 1:1 meeting with a pastor via Zoom or other platform or a Curbside Check-In is available, by request.

For Curbside Check-In, pastors will drive to your home and stay in their cars while you chat. Visits will last no more than 10 minutes as we want to see as many people as possible.

Please reach out to us at to set up a 1:1 meeting or a Curbside Check-In.

We plan to remain closed until it appears safe to host the people who call SSV home. We will continue to post updates via email, social media and our website.

Please email Naomii to add your name to our church-wide email list, if you are not already receiving our communication.

1.  We want to be the Church.
2.  We want to be wise stewards.
3.  We want to be wise, not anxious.
4.  We want to be good community members.
5.  We want to protect the vulnerable.
